5 months old

5 months old...this was earlier in the week.
She gets scared when the tub drains, and this is what she looks like when she reacts.
And in honor of her 5 month...she has now had rice cereal. She did a good job, and I think she will be taking to this eating thing fast.  She took about 10 or so bites and then got mad I think because she wasn't getting food fast enough. So I nursed her longer than she normally does after that and gave her another 5 bites of cereal.  Now it all will go by fast...by the end of next week we will have introduced a vegetable or something...I'm a little nervous about it, I don't even know how much or how often to attempt pureed solids.

Job Hunt

I hate the job hunt....oh well it is a must.  The Sunday before last I got fired via text during sacrament, when my boss knew I was at church. She said she changed her work schedule and didn't need me anymore. The week before she had asked me to cover days in August, so whatever happened, happened fast, and when I went there the next day to get my stuff the new nanny was there. Oh well. I don't have to worry about being under paid...I was paid 4.27 an hour to watch 4 kids, and was gone from my home 15 hours a day.  I also don't have to worry about my daughter getting bit by the ant problem that infested her house any more.

On another note, I have had a couple leads for jobs, but only one has lead to an interview so far.   I have an interview on Wed after the baby has her 4 month check up. It is to be a mad scientist. A program to help make science fun for grade school children. You get your own mad scientist name..ie the guy who will be interviewing me is dynamite dave...I guess I could be radioactive rebekah? It would be fun, and it would start off part time.  After school programs, some during school presentation, summer camps, and so on. I wonder if they can request specific mad scientists and I could get people to request me. It would be independent contracting work which is ok, I just prefer w-2. But with 3 of us this year we still shouldn't have to worry too much about taxes, plus my gas can be written off.

The baby is doing great. She still pretty much sleeps through the night. Last night she slept 9 hours without waking up and then slept another couple hours before waking up for the day.  She loves to sneeze and cough.  If she is in the middle of crying and sneezes, she stops and smiles, and then the crying is done. Not as much as with a cough, but she still smiles when she coughs.  She still doesn't roll over from front to back as often as I would like. She does it once every two or three weeks now, but she still knows how. She is so close to rolling over from back to front. She will roll onto her side and then roll her hips all the way over but won't roll her shoulders over. I know she could do it, she probably just hates being on her stomach enough that she knows she doesn't want to roll over.

Some days her hair looks more red to me, sometimes in pictures it is the same color as mine, sometimes it is blonde, and sometimes it is brown.....one day we might know her true hair color. Her eyes, I think they are going to be green...they are changing more each day.

It was the perfect size for her head

She is just so cute! Daddy took this picture
