Adventures in Bekah land.....
Christmas is almost here....I am learning how to play the piano better by actually trying....it is amazing what a little bit of trying will do.
I am working on the musical SPENT....once I get it fairly organized on paper then I will type it up and send it to Carrie Sylvester-Chapman...so she help put it all together and then we can maybe get it on stage somewhere....maybe
I am knitting with a knifty knitter loom.....a scarf....and then who knows whats next...
I am taking a polygraph and a drug test this upcoming Tuesday for the Emergency Dispatcher job I applied for back in May.
My cousins are coming to Utah for Christmas, so we are gonna play with them on Tuesday when we are down in that area, and probably go see the lights on temple square again.
And I think that is it...

We are in AZ
Welcome to Yuma, AZ....we arrived last night to see G'ma and Charlie and visit with them for Thanksgiving.....We started in Logan, and headed to Vegas on Sat....we stopped of in St. George to go to the temple and visit with some friends who just so happened to be there the same time we were. Then on to Vegas and we went to the temple there. After that we went to my Aunt and Uncles' house....Rhonda and Jim. We had tons of fun in Vegas and with them and there doggie children. We saw the strip, and Freemont...and Hoover Dam and Red Rock canyon.....then we headed out Monday morning to get to LA, California. We saw the world's biggest Thermometer on the way.....lots of dry river beds and made it to Santa Monica. We set up a tent in Malibu, and went to the Santa Monica Pier.....walked Hollywood Ave. Drove thru Belair Estates, and Beverly Hills, cruised down sunset blvd. Saw the Graumans? Chinese Theater?, Kodak Theater, and saw some look alikes including Spongebob and Spiderman who probably bought thier costumes after Halloween when they were on mark down. We found out that James has the same size foot as Arnold Swartschenager man.....minus the pointy shoe. We had some of the best seafood ever at a nice place in Malibu off the beach. We walked on the beach at night as the tide was rolling in and ran away from the Pacific as it attempted to attack us. It managed to nip my shoe, it was close. We watch 4 little birds run with the waves hitting the sand looking for a "midnight snack", it was as if they walked on water, or surfed with them. We camped in the most perfect weather ever known to me. I have never had such a perfect camping experience despite the $35 camping fee, 50 cents extra for hot water should you choose to want it to shower, and $9 a night for wireless.....Tuesday we went to the Los Angeles Temple, Newport Beach temple which is my favorite temple so far on the inside, and the San Diego temple which is my favorite temple outside still and favorite Celestial room, I wish we had seen the Newport Beach celestial room, but one day.....Then we made it to Yuma, AZ after driving through a border patrol check and a stop at McDonalds. Who knows what is next to experince on the wonderful adventure.....lots I am sure...I have lots of pictures to put up once we get back.....ps, the Vegas style temples are way prettier in person than in pictures......

a new new....
A new look = a new dedication to blogging.......hopefully.
Today we both signed up for sewing classes. Monday at 5 we are going to learn how to sew...a life long lesson. And we came home with an 88 key keyboard....so now I can practice and get better at piano and so can James...and we can play music together....guitar and piano.
I got a call yesterday from that emergency dispatcher position I applied for back in May....I think it was May. Anyway I have to do a background check....so that will take 4 to 5 months to finish cuz the private investigator has lots of research to do.
I also applied for the full time position of sanitation on line 4 at Pepperidge Farm. No one else applied for it, so we will see if I get it. It would be nice...I would get a little bit more hours and a higher pay...and it would last until I possibly got the dispatcher job which would pay even more and I would get benefits immediately....... So there ya go...

After Overhead
So here are the mostly finished overhead cab photos....you know when you have it almost finished.....you think it is finished...and then there are still more small things to do, like touch-ups on the paint....and putting the stained glass window film on the front window, and hiding that hideous seam on the ceiling a bit more with white paint.... but here they are like I promised on facebook....
This is the curtain that leads to the rest of the motorhome.
Before & After
This is what it looked like
when James stripped it all
This is now
Stripped.......and then.....
Everything but the window
film....and a few touch-ups of paint.
Stripped
Just painted the darker
blue today.......

Who would have thought you could buy a house for $300
So here we have our motorhome. I don't know why that stuff is highlighted. Anyway, it made a 2 hour trip from West Jordan, Utah, to its current parking spot.
There is a crack in the top window...but I have some plans on ways to disguise it...we will see if it workds...but not yet. We have lots of other stuff to do before those cosmetics come about.
Look our door....I hate that lock, it is crazy hard to use...but we are gonna fix that too.
The front seat and overhead cab. The overhead cab is now almost complete. We had to take out a bit of wood because of rot. There are no vent covers on the roof, and there hadn't been for a while.....so we have some good stuff to fix, but it is fun...I will put pictures up of the overhead cab when it is done.
Bathroom, there is no toilet in there right now. James has taken off the ceiling, and part of the floor to fix rot. After the overhead is complete....actually we might have a lot of the bathroom done tomorrow, as well as have the windows put back on the front.
That ironing board looking thing is our table....it is in its place right now. The cabinets above the eating area fold out into a bed, then the eating area turns into a bed, and of course the overhead cab is a bed. So our little home sleeps 5 to 6 people. It has a stove, fridge, and double sink, and it also comes equipped with a barometer.
This is what the overhead cab looked like almost stripped.....but now all the walls are back up and we are in the process of wall papering, so that we can paint and such.
We have fixed the horn, the turn signal switch, and the wipers. There is one other thing to fix mechanically with the front end, and the rest is interior cosmetics. We have gotten a lot of our supplies from the DI (aka thrift store). Today we got 4 boxes of peel and stick vinyl for the floor for 2 bucks a box. We got the paintable wallpaper from the DI as well. We got a lot of free wood this weekend from a construction site who said we could take it. We are excited with the progress we have made....we are almost all ready for the safety inspection....hopefully by the end of next week...that last part is in the mail tomorrow to get here and then I can install it.
As far as work, I am only working at Pepperidge Farm, which really is a lot of fun. I do like it, it ranges from 3 to 5 days a week and is allowing us to pay the bills and work on the motorhome.
We are still looking for a co-sponsor for James....
General Conference is next weekend and James and I get to attend the 2nd session on Saturday. We are pretty excited about that as well.
So there is my quick yet fairly encompassing of the past couple months update....and of course our new home!!
